We want our grass mowed once a week, but it has been 9 days since it was last cut, is there a problem?
Our general rule of thumb for mowing is as follows: Spring and Fall – every 7-10 days or as needed, Summer – every 10-14 days or as needed. Weather permitting!! If a customer wants to be cut every 7 days, we can accommodate your request. However, we explain when the Proposal is presented, that we like to mow when it is needed and it is healthier for your turf and maybe for your wallet, but we are very flexible and if we explain ourselves and why we do what we do and you still want it on the schedule weekly, then that is no problem at all.
We had some trees and shrubs installed a month ago and the leaves are starting to brown and wilt, what do we do?
How much have you been watering them? Have you been over watering them? Have you finger checked the soil to see if they are too dry or too wet? Call us and we can help you with this.
Do you have customer service?
Of course! Our friendly and knowledgeable office staff are available to answer your questions by phone, text or you can email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and mention in the subject “Important Please Help!” and we will respond with in 2 to 4 hrs. or sooner. PLEASE NOTE: because we are a small company, we have one person in the office part-time answering the phones and the owner is also answering calls as well, but he is also working in the field, on sales calls, in meetings and unfortunately we can not answer every call right when you call us, but PROMISE that if you leave a message, we will call you back within 2 hours.
We have these things hanging off of our evergreen trees and all the needles are DISAPPEARING, can you help?
It sounds like Bag worms and if it is and they are not old, they could destroy the tree and any others near them within a few days to a week. Go out to the tree and take a look at the bag and see if it is moving or wiggling, if it is, please see if you can see if a worm head is sticking out and eating the needles. If it is, then call us right away and we can send someone over to spray your trees to control these Bag worms before they destroy all your evergreens.
Our grass is turning yellow or light green, do you know what that is and what we can do?
It sounds like it could be a Nitrogen deficiency but we would have to come out and take a soil sample and take a look so we can properly diagnose this and treat it the right way. If it is a nitrogen deficiency, then it could be as simple as fertilizing your lawn through the season to give your turf the proper amount of micro and macro nutrients, but let’s wait for the lab to return the results of your soil sample, these reports are extremely helpful in properly diagnosing your lawn and determining what might be needed instead of guessing.
We have some fungus or yellowish stuff growing in the mulch that was put down a few weeks ago, what is it and is it harmful to our dog?
We would need to come out and look at it, but if it is what I am thinking, it is not harmful to your animals, but to be on the safe side, let’s take a look first. Call us at 240-460-6800 or email us at email@example.com
How much would it cost to cut down a large tree in the backyard?
There are way too many variables to consider when removing a tree on someone’s property, like what size is it, how close to a structure, what kind of tree is it, does it have decay in it, is it safe to climb. So with this, no reputable tree care company would ever give a price over the phone or email, we would have to come out and look at the tree in person to decide some of these factors and many more, but don’t worry we do not charge you for this service.
